Reclaimed Sail Messenger Bags

It was a little tricky working with that afternoon sun yesterday, but fun nonetheless.

Finally, a batch of messenger bags are finished, photographed and being updated in the Etsy shop. This batch is lined with navy organic cotton canvas that has been pre-washed and has a lovely broken in feeling to it. Check it out!

Mom and Pop Shop

The gift shop will be filled with mom-centric gifts including soaps, handmade cards, fake “MOM” tattoos, bags, gardening accessories and more. It’s the perfect place to find a gift that truly says: thanks, mom.
All merchandise is hand-made by designers, artists, and crafters from across the country. Sorry, no macaroni necklaces here, but shoppers will be able to find limited edition and one-of-a kind gifts that can be found only in this store.

I dropped off an arm-full of special totes and purses for the shop (you can see some in the picture below) - perfect for mom!

The Alpha/Omega messenger bag now available here. I love the smooth, just right curve of the omega and the rugged pre washed navy cotton canvas lining. A nice bag from beginning to end. (Couldn't resist!)

It's a Jungle In Here

I've received a rather large backdrop of printed vinyl to upcycle!



My first projects are being made from a great big green jungle backdrop- perfect to work with on grey cold winter days. This vinyl has been saved from the land fill after it was used on a studio set.

Just Keep Tuggin'

This was the scene yesterday when it wasn't just snowing - it was snowing GOBS of snow. Absolutely beautiful, those huge wet 2 inch dollops of snow that somehow manage to fall silently.

It's been a hectic couple of weeks making bags, doing markets and sending out orders (thank you for all those orders - keep 'em coming!!) I caught the mother of all sinus colds that did not knock me out flat because I didn't have time to be THAT sick. Actually, I was that sick, I just didn't have time to be knocked out flat.

A new batch of messengers and totes have been cut, sewn, photographed and will be listed today. Custom holiday orders have been finished and sent out with the exception of a few pick ups that are scheduled over the next couple days.

The beauty of the season is coming into focus - the kids are starting to really think and plan about what they can make for everyone on their list. Decorations have been brought up from the basement and are getting dusted and distributed. It's nice after such a long time of focusing on work, work, work to pause, appreciate and celebrate.

And through it all the tugs keep tuggin'.

Windy City

No not Chicago - Brooklyn. Much of yesterday was spent photographing bags in a glassed in perch full of beautiful natural light. Views of the water all around - a peaceful place to work to the sound of whistling wind.



Everything is going good. I'm getting into the rhythm and groove. After lunch I propped the door open to let in some fresh air.

Wind + Sails. I should have known.





I guess a sails gotta do what a sails gotta do.
