Happy Holidays!
Wishing you and yours all the best during this holiday season.
Thank you for your interest, kind words, wacky custom requests, encouragement, sail donations and orders. I really do love working with sails to create bags and pillows that have meaning and are eco friendly. Thanks for your continued support and the opportunity to create and connect.
Cheers,
Katherine

Water Coasters for Your Water
These lovely little coasters will create acceptable abstract puddles of water on your coffee table. Eco bonus: these coasters are created using environmentally sustainable wood.
A set would make a great hostess gift, too. $27 here by MyLittlePixels.

Nautical Decor: Fleet
I love how well these pendants combine modern and nautical.
Visit Fleet here.
'Fleet Objects is the Vancouver based design studio of Zoe Garred. Working primarily with natural materials, Zoe's passion lies in creating objects that are useful but abstract in form and application. By leaving the function of her pieces open to interpretation she invites the user to define the object's significance.'

Brooklyn Blossoms
Although the Brooklyn Botanical Garden hosted Sakura Matsui aka the Cherry Blossom Festival last weekend, the CherryWatch Blossom Status Map shows that the trees lining the Cherry Esplanade are still in first bloom.
I went a couple of weekends ago and caught the Japanese Garden in full bloom. Just beautiful - even on a cloudy day.
Pssst: When there aren't special programs running entry to the BBG is FREE on Sat mornings from 10 am - noon. More info on hours and admissions here.

Happy (Upcycled) Spring
It's been a string of grey, chilly, damp days here in Brooklyn and I'm daydreaming about the warmer, sunnier days ahead.
These upcycled floral dresses and skirts made from wool scarves by Mrs Pomeranz on Etsy caught my eye as perfect for these transitional days of early Spring. The styling of the skirt with the black tights and shoes is a perfect for today's New York City forecast: periodic sun and clouds, windy, high of 43 degrees clouding up tonight with a chance of snow showers.
Happy first day of Spring!

Nautical Decor Detail
Rugged, simple yet full of character is the way I describe Landlocked Sailor's Manila and hemp towel ring.
Landlocked Sailor describes themselves as "a couple of tallship sailors who were landlocked in Indiana for a few years, but now we're back on the West Coast and loving the sea!" Wouldn't it be great to be a tallship sailor!?
Available here.

I'm Baaaack!
OK so I've been juggling a lot lately but I'm back and dusting off the ol' blog to say hello and share the latest nautical creations: POUCHES!
These recycled sail pouches have been on the table in pieces just waiting to be sewn for way too long! They are the perfect size to stow cosmetics in for your next trip, wrangle odds and ends that get lost in the cavern of your bag, or to keep your phone accessories in. All very practical ideas indeed. However, my favorite use would be to stash some necessities and use it as a clutch on a summer date!
Ah, the possibilities....
