Nautical Decor Detail

Rugged, simple yet full of character is the way I describe Landlocked Sailor's Manila and hemp towel ring.

Landlocked Sailor describes themselves as "a couple of tallship sailors who were landlocked in Indiana for a few years, but now we're back on the West Coast and loving the sea!" Wouldn't it be great to be a tallship sailor!?

I'm Baaaack!

OK so I've been juggling a lot lately but I'm back and dusting off the ol' blog to say hello and share the latest nautical creations: POUCHES!

These recycled sail pouches have been on the table in pieces just waiting to be sewn for way too long! They are the perfect size to stow cosmetics in for your next trip, wrangle odds and ends that get lost in the cavern of your bag, or to keep your phone accessories in. All very practical ideas indeed. However, my favorite use would be to stash some necessities and use it as a clutch on a summer date!

Ah, the possibilities....

Sandy Update #1

I'm 99% sure this security photo from the building is the same doorway from the previous post. It was taken around 7 pm which was before the high tide.

Waiting to hear more updates and for the wind to die down before I venture out to assess the damage. So very thankful that my studio is on the 4th floor. So very sorry for my ground floor neighbors.

Sandbags for Sandy

This is what one of the doors to my studio building looked like yesterday.

The below photo was shared on the NYT's website this morning at 9:20 am and shows the opposite side of the building which is sadly already flooding. Sandy isn't predicted to 'hit' until tonight.

Luckily, I am on the top floor. I'll keep you posted.
